Sheltered by the Mountain Man

He spent his life protecting others. Now he’s the one who needs to be rescued.

I came to White Falls for solitude and to heal the many wounds I racked up in the service, not create more by falling down an embankment while looking for my dog. The dog may be fine, but as a strong storm rolls in, suddenly I’m the one who needs rescuing. It’s a bitter pill to swallow after spending years helping others. 

Then a curvy angel who’s lost in the woods finds me and gets my sorry ass home. 

She’s sweet, shy, and a little clumsy. Way too young for me, but so damn cute I could howl into the wind whipping outside my cabin as the storm rages. I didn’t think I wanted anyone in my life, but this little librarian is making me rethink every plan I had for the future.

The problem? I don’t have anything to offer that could tempt her to stay, except a battle-scarred heart and a dog with no boundaries. Who would want that?
